The intelligence and broad perspective demonstrated in this video exemplifies the reason I've been practically binging this channel for a while. The types of traits you've shown in this video, quite frankly, makes me wish you were more interested in actively participating in politics. It's so sad that so many great, compassionate people tend to see politics as "a space for backstabbing powerhungry assholes", because their avoidance of the political system is exactly why the sleazebags have so little stable competition.

5,000,000,000$ cost in today's money divided by 400,000,000$ an hour, that other canal would have paid for its self in 12 hours, that boat was stuck for about a week. They really missed an investment oppurtunity.

maybe sometime in the future, the generation then, could look at our times and think we were so primitive given humanity gets rid of the philosophy of "me" vs "them" - before we extinct ourselves - when i watch such contents, where humans fight for absurd reasons, be it anything geopolitics, religious-wars, or just corporates trying to take on one another - honestly i loose faith in humanity and go, perhaps humanity is a failed experiment

    1. Egypt closed the straits of Tiran, the day before Israel attacked in 1956, while giving Egypt warnings. They didn’t attack to gain the Suez Canal. Tho the Europeans say it as a good way to seek an advantage 2. Israel and The US didn’t have an alliance till after 1967 when Israel defeated the Arab Pact of Syria Jordan and Egypt 3. Israel didn’t attack in 1967 because of the Suez Canal, they attacked after Egypt closed the straits again, by doing a preemptive strike on the airforce, then the Arab pact attacked, with Israel responding by using paratroopers to capture Gaza 4. Israel had more ambition to occupy the West Bank and Gaza then to gain the Suez Canal. They didn’t care it’s obvious because Egypt occupied the Gaza Strip before 1967 war

@11:40 you launched into some rambling about ever lasting peace 🙄. That unfortunately is not true and it’s just that you personally feel like that as your life has not been impacted by the aggression of USA and it’s allies against many other countries eg Syria which 100s of thousands of innocent people have been killed and millions forced to live their land and homes. Iraq again thousands killed and injured and millions became refugees. Afghanistan, then In Africa, Libya, Yaman, The Congo’s, Sudan, the. Vietnam war, Korean War and circle back to the Latin American countries, then East Timor, also Ukraine and Russia, Chechnya and Russia, former Yugoslavia civil war in the 90s. The long Iran vs Iraq war in the 80s. Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Also persecution against minorities eg Bangladesh, China, Myanmar etc Turkish aggression against the Kurds, former Iraqi government using chemical gas against the Kurds. The list goes on and on. My point is, you feel there is peace because you are not exposed to the hell going on in other countries.

I love your videos they are very interesting. But like you said in the video about Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson. "In journalism, the words used matter in the message you are trying to present." (That could be a paraphrase and not a quote) I noticed how when you talk about America you refer to forced labor as slavery, but when it comes to Egyptians and the Spaniards to build the canal, the slaves are forced laborers. Call a spade a spade man, they both are slaves.

Wow wow wow, I know this isn't a video about Israeli wars but that was a very disingenuous interpretation of the six day war. Egypt was literally planning an invasion with six other countries. In fact there was zero expectation or planning to get to the cannal, it turned out for a mix of complicated reasons that they were able to quickly push the egyptians back. Anyways good video otherwise

With over 100,000, forced, laborers yet non of them were french. It seems that the Suez canal and the oil, sealed the Middle East's fate. Then the occupation of Palestine by israel, only further victimizes the people of the Middle East by the West. Anyone else see this for the farce that it is? The Western narrative is that it's for humanitarian reasons when in reality it's a resource grab. Yet no media ever covers it for what it is. We are all responsible for this travesty!
